For one point, name the year, make, and model of this car.

This image is from a Firestone advertisement broadcast during the 2002 Indianapolis 500 race.  Recorded on a VCR, transferred to computer using a low-megapixel digital camera.

1935 Studee [Studebaker] President.

Correct so far Manuel.  But the car has one more name.  When a 1930's Studebaker is equipped with dual side-mounted spares, another word is applied.

Locked for 24 hours for Manuel.

Correct!  One more point to Manuel.

I captured these images because, my family owned a 1935 Studebaker President Regal from the 1960's until the late 1980's.

I would like to see a 1934-35 Pres Land Cruiser in real life. I wonder how they would look today?

A 35 Stude President Land Cruiser is a bit different from a Regal...and all I can find is photos of a Commander Land Cruiser.

Here are a couple of photos:

Oops.  Spoke too soon.  Here are a coupla shots of a President Regal...sorry, no Land Cruiser, tho.

Manuel

All beautiful cars. The Land Cruiser must have been quite radical in its day.
Thanks for the pics.

And that makes you an Expert Manuel - well done!

Of course that means you aren't permitted to answer Rookie puzzles any more, but you can of course post your own puzzles now.
Congratulations!

Damn. I like the Rookie puzzles Carnut. Does that mean I have to wait patiently until it gets moved to Expert or Pro level?
Are there any copyright rules when posting pics?
Thanks anyway.

Oh yes. Another question I have been meaning to ask:
What are the guide lines for a car being given different names and specs in different countries?
eg Korean Daewoos are sold by Holden here.

Thanks

sixtee5cuda

Cars having different names in different countries is one of the fun part of puzzles on here.

But if a particular Chevy seems exotic or strange to you, there probably a lot of people on here, to whom it is an average Holden or Daewoo sitting in their driveway.

I'm afraid you have to wait until the puzzle reaches Expert level now before you can have a shot at it.
Pro puzzles are of course open to everyone, Rookies, Experts and Pro's alike; Experts can only answer Expert and Pro puzzles and Pro's can only answer Pro puzzles.  The exception is that there is also a Pro and Feature Writers Board which is only open to Pro's or Feature Writers.

The Black Hole is of course open to anyone as well.

A car sold under a different name in another country is classed as a different car hence can be puzzled even if the original has already been one.  Just make sure the picture is of the different version.

It's a lot of fun telling someone who recognises a car that in fact it isn't one but is something else; that makes them go off and search the 'Net!

You may find that pictures you want to post are subject to copyright, yes.  Certainly some from books might be and there are people out there who post pictues which are freely available on the 'Net yet which they think they own the copyright to.  I haven't seen that one tested in a court of law but would be surprised if they would be granted the rights to it, having posted it on the World Wide Web..

You need to satisfy yourself that you're allowed to post the picture before you do so.  You are prevented from copying some pictures and other have writing across them to stop people using them, but generally there are plenty of ways around that and again I wouldn't have thought it worth anyone's efforts to take you to task on it.  Some 'sites do specifically say that you don't have the right to post the pictures elsewhere; in those circumstances you can ask if it would be OK, although my experience of doing that is that you don't even get a reply and if you do it's negative..
