Point for you, Ray.

The retractable hardtop option was never available on an Edsel.  And this compact roof is folding into the back seat of a custom 4-door Edsel.

Ahhh....I see.  No wonder the windshield header looks so goofy.  Matter of fact, the whole car is sorta in the "goofy zone."   A long hood can be a graceful thing, but having an aircraft carrier behind the driver's seat doesn't get high marks in the aesthetic department.  Well, unless it's an El Camino, to which I'm very partial.   See photo.
