For one point, identify the year, make, and model of the car hiding under this exotic shell.

Correct, it is a rebodied 2002 Mercury Cougar.  It is also known as the Cougatti.

The internet isn't very consistent about who built this car.  His name is either Mike Duke or Mike Duff.

The car still has a back seat, and is a V6/Automatic equipped car.
