This is a special, based on 1950 Crosley frame and running gear, with bodywork in steel. A shortened 1940 Ford hood and grille are used. It was built more recently than might be supposed from its appearance.

Correct so far.
But it does have a name which is required for the point.
Locked for you to see if you can come up with it!

I have found a better internet reference for the car, in which the owners/builders refer to it as their "hot rod". Sound about right?

OK, you've got their names.
I had it just as the PetePaula Crosley Hot Rod so you get the point!
