Is a French Fiat the same thing as a Simca or was Fiat France a separate entity?

According to a well-known informational website (that starts with "w"  ::) ) Simca was formed in 1934 by Fiat.  They apparently operated as a separate company until 1958 when Chrysler bought a share of the business and it got complicated from there.

The car in this puzzle is one that I had listed as an "Esportazione" which I interpreted to mean an export model.

That's about as much as I can say with any amount of certainty.

"Esportazione" (that indeed means "Export") was however a higher trim level for Viotti cars. Not directly related to the fact that the car was for export or domestic market actually.
This can be recognized as an "Esportazione" due to the second pair of headlamps and the chromed bumpers. However, I'm not 100% convinced about the front grille and the whole nose, that looks to me somehow different from the regular one used on this car (that should be the same as the Fiat saloon). Main headlamps are round, while they should be oval; I think it has been repaired after a small accident.

And about Simca: they replicated Fiat models, but never made actually the 1500. In those years only the 500 (called the "Cinq") and the 1100 (called the "Huit").
