It is the last version of the Lloyd LP 400 with all-steel-body. During its time of production it went through some evolution: from January to March 1953 all body panels were made of fabric covered wood. From March 1953 till the end of 1953 the fenders and doors were made of steel. From January 1954 the hood and the rear turned to steel, and from the end of 1954 finally the roof was made of steel, too. This last all-steel version went by the name of Lloyd LP 400 S.
