A nicely done wagon.

For one point, please respond and identify this car and its coachbuilder.

The vehicle is a 1938 Chevrolet Carryall/Suburban.
As to the bodymaker, I may be falling into a little trap, but it looks
exactly like a photo in a period brochure I have where it states
"Body by Fisher" so let's start there.
Cheers

Well, I can see what you mean. I have a non-American coachbuilder, but I have to check tonight.

I have to admit that this probably is a plain 1938 Chevrolet Suburban. The picture was part of a series of pictures from a company that did coachbuilding on buses, but was a GM dealer as well. I misinterpreted this Suburban as being coachbuilt by them, but I can't find proof for that. So this easier than thought puzzle is hereby declared solved. I won't disclose what company was involved as I might post a bus of them as a puzzle in the future.  ;)

Thank you my friend, now up to 25 points.

However, I am not too proud of this one as it really seems like a "stock" photo right out of the
1938 series of brochures and perhaps your bus coachbuilder just lifted the photo for their own
advertising.

However, given the degree of difficulty I now encounter as a "newbie" in the Expert class quizzes,
I could use an easy one every once in a while.

BTW, one of my very most favourite vehicles that I owned was a 1988 Chevrolet Suburban with the 6.2 liter
Diesel engine.  It had excellent fuel consumption, it had enough power to pull a house and as it was a former
GM Executive car, it had every accessory offered in 1988.  I also had dual exhausts installed with rather loud
mufflers as I have always been a "Hot Rodder" at heart.  Sadly, I had to sell it in 1992 when I purchased a
business that required a full sized pickup that had more "vertical" load capacity.

Cheers
Bill

The picture was taken at the dealer's premises far away from the USA, as one can see on the original photo.

Some 35 years ago, when I spent one year as an exchange student in Oklahoma, I had some rides in a Suburban. A gigantic car compared to what you saw on European streets in those days.

Well, we are straying from the subject of puzzles, but............

I take your point about the photo, it is not exactly the same as in my brochure collection and the background
can very well be ???? European???

Ray, I don't follow all of your racing activities, but is that your Monte that is being towed by a later vintage
Suburban??
Cheers

Yes.  That's my 85 Monte Carlo SS with a fairly healthy 406 motor in it....at least it was healthy until I made my 2nd run at the last event.  Then it just decided it didn't want to pull over 3000 rpm, so the best I got out of it was 124.  And yeah, that's a 99 Suburban.  It has a 350 motor which is just fine for my needs.  As regards, the background, it's the Bonneville Salt Flats.

I'll be back with it next year to run for 150-160...and damned well better make it this time!
