It started out as a 1947 Crosley sedan. A San Jose aircraft engineer - Carl A Lind - built it in 1958, got it titled as a Special Construction vehicle, and "used the heck out of it for the next couple of decades".

Well, you certainly found the right car, but I think you've got the wrong name. If he drove this car for decades, it should be Ron Kambestad, the man whose name can be read on the right-hand title in your picture. He's also claimed as builder in the very detailed ebay ad where I got the picture from. There you can find period photographs showing the Crosley with the license plate issued to Kambestad.
Anyhow, the point is yours, and if you can prove me wrong, you are welcome to do so.
