Just for Fun #329 - Chuck Jordan and the Corvette Batmobile
« on: October 09, 2012, 04:42:36 AM »
For one point, riddle me this: Identify the car, its purpose, and the un-caped crusader sitting on it. Holy red herring! He's already given a clue!

Only a complete and specific answer will earn a point!

A 1967 Corvette for Batman series creator Bob Kane and executive producer William Dozier, who asked GM Design's help in creating a suitable escape car for their lead character, Batman.  Designed by (and he's sitting on it), Chuck Jordan...

"I've met Chuck Jordan several times over my career writing Corvette histories. This photo seems so implausible: dapper, disciplined Chuck sitting on a cartoon. Series creator Bob Kane and executive producer William Dozier asked GM Design's help in creating a suitable escape car for their lead character, Batman. The TV show ran from 1966 through 1968 and starred Adam West."

Quote from Christopher R. Phillip

The car was based on a 66 Corvette with a 427" big block.  I'd love to get my hands on one of those motors!
