I think I'll put an end to this puzzle and award you the point, as you have identified the marque and you are guessing types of the right vintage. When I took the photo in 1986, I noted that the owner described it as a 14 CV. But the literature doesn't show a 14 CV of that age. So I think it probably is a 12 CV X45. Anyone knowing it better is welcome to correct me.

Thank you for the point, Wendax. I was looking for models that were either a 16CV or 18CV. I've since found a similar 12CV in the book 'French Cars from 1920 to 1925' on page 82.

This car has a British registration number, so I checked it on the DVLA database. You can't get much detail, but the date of first registration is given as 28 January 1925. The engine capacity is listed as 2297cc, so that would confirm that it's a 12CV.
