Despite the looks it is not a Klöckner-Deutz-Magirus. It isn't from the early 1940s either.

Congratulations! What took you so long?  ;)

It is the Betz Straßenschlepper from the early 1950s, equipped with a three-cylinder Deutz Diesel engine.

Wendax, I was fascinated by the StraBenschlepper name of this truck.  It seems quite a few German trucks have this name. If I am right, straBen is 'streets' and 'to schlep' is to drag, or tow, so, literally translated a StraBenschlepper is a 'street dragger' (or Street People Smuggler, as the Google translator will have it!  ;D)  Can you shed a bit more light on the meaning of moniker?

Straßenschlepper means road tractor differentiating it from the Ackerschlepper, the agricultural tractor. The Straßenschlepper was mostly used within cities to pull one or two trailers. The Straßenschlepper could be a slightly modified agricultural tractor, like the Lanz Eilbulldog below, or a car based tractor with a low-ratio gearbox like the Hanomag ST 20, or a shortened truck like the Enser Hanomag (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=23476.msg269097#msg269097). The bigger ones like the Kaelble were rather called Zugmaschine.
