It would have been a USRRC car...CanAm didn't exist until 1966.  Concept was pretty much the same, tho.

This car was auctioned recently at Bonhams where it was described as a 1962 car but still a Can-Am Special.
More misinformation on the Web and it seems Bonhams are no better than the back-street car dealers at knowing what they are selling?  I thought the auction houses employed experts?!
