Not sure if that's a question, or a proclamation  ;)

In either case, no.

Looks like a late 30s early 40s GM vehicle with an open body. Could have been converted in Europe.

It almost seems too easy, but 1939 Chevy 4-dr convertible sedan.

Hmm...like the fact that it was the only convertible offered by Chevy in 1939 and it was the last Chevy convertible sedan?  I can't tell from the photo, but it might also be a Master Deluxe which used "knee-action" front suspension, Chevy's foray into independent front suspension that it would use (more or less) until 1962 when struts were used in the Nova.

This was not a '39 Chevy that a guy could walk into his dealership in, say, Los Angeles, and buy.

Ahh...like the one built for the Saudi royal family and later used by an Indian maharajah?

Built in Canada for a royal visit with a raised rear seat so that their loyal subjects could see their majesties.

This is a 1939 Chevrolet 4-door convertible sedan converted probably from a Master 85 Sedan with stick floor-mounted gearshift, no
"knee-action" front suspension and leather trim. These were converted by General Motors Continental, Antwerp, for
the Swiss Army. 15 units built.

Not in the USA, it doesn't.  That's one of the first things I checked.  I tried separating the words into "convertible sedan" as well as combining them.  I think I'm fairly good at web searching (if it allowed SQL querys, I'd be in hog heaven...I used to do that for a living) and could NOT come up with anything other than the Saudi version.

Makes me wonder if there are different search servers and algorithms for different parts of the world.

Good work solving it.  I never would have come up with the Swiss military connection.

Yes, Ray, I tried this search now with google.com instead of google.de and I didn't see the picture. There must be different search algorithms.

It does appear in the search results from the .com instance of Google, if one is willing to page down repeatedly.
