Who is this flapper girl?  And what is her relationship to what car?

Answer both parts for a point.

Nice try, but wrong girl.

or Nice girl, wrong try?!

Ok.  I guess that works, too.  But it's still not the right answer.   ;D

This woman needs professional help.

No, it would be nothing but the truth to say that this photo is not of Mercedes (who might be labeled as pathetic and irrational.)  Attached is a photo of Mercedes, who died at the age of 39.

See where a WAG gets you?  ;D

Did the puzzle girl pose for a hood ornament?
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

RayTheRat

To the best of my knowledge, no.

Otto Puzzell

Was her likeness used to market/sell automobiles?

Is she known for the manor in which she used the automobile - one was not in keeping with the norms of the time?
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

RayTheRat

No.  Her association is relative (and she's not Einstein's daughter.)

RtR

Otto Puzzell

hey - I'm the comic foil here, all right?

So, does she share a name with a car, ala Violet Romer?
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Otto Puzzell

But not here, I guess. Now, one just needs to pair every car name ever used with the word "flapper", and do a Google search.  :D

Since I can relate to your image of Sisyphus's stone and would hate to see the young lady condemned to the dreaded Black Hole (whether in Calcutta or outer space...somewhere like Pluto) I'll give a hint.  Her father's the one who is known for his cars.

There's also a hint in the reply with the image of Mercédès Jellinek.

RtR

ps.  I'm gonna be afk for a little while.  bbl.

RayTheRat

Another clue before this young lady is banished to the black hole.  Her father was famous not only for his cars, but for his work in the aircraft arena.

Good luck,

I think that she may be Gabiel Voisin's daughter Janine.
Voisin was a pioneer aeroplane manufacturer who late built cars with a badge which proudly said "Avions Voisin" - some have featured here in the distant past.
Most distinctive was the car for the 1923 Grand Prix:
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Absolutely right!  The earlier clue I mentioned was "nothing but the truth" or in French, "Rien que la vérité", the name of a 1931 film in which she appeared, a year after the flapper photo was done.

I don't know much else about her. Kinda like Einstein's daughter, to whom I jokingly referred (who may have died before her 2nd birthday), I've been able to find very little on the web about her.

Good sleuthing, Allan, bad luck, Otto.

I've had worse luck. I learned a lot about Eddie Rickenbacker's family, while I was following a dead end.  :)
