The puzzle car was sold on ebay.co.uk in 2012 for 900 pounds.  It was an abandoned project which cost over 26,000 pounds.

Paraphrasing the listing:

As pictured, the car is just a mockup, not a driveable vehicle.  Auction included the mockup, moulds made from the mockup, and one prototype body shell from the moulds.

Wheelbase and track are the same as an Elise.  The windscreen was from a Lotus Elise.

The car did originally featured a modified midtec (Lee Noble chassis).  Chassis was not included in the auction.  It was intended that the body be fitted to an Elise chassis, but this never took place.

Many thanks for the replies. Wonder what happened to the car as 'won' on eBay?

That GTM Ballista does look to be a different shape (windscreen, doors etc)
