I had a hell of a time trying to figure out what a "Gauderman" was. Eventually it dawned on me (just about the time the sun came up) that a "Gauderman" is a name; in particular the name of one of the drivers of the Steyr. Duh.
I also found that a similar car (perhaps the same car, but with slightly different 'mud guards') raced in the 1924 French GP for touring cars with Hermann Rützler at the wheel. Apparently the car had a brake fade issue or Herr Rützler had a bit of brain fade; as a result, a little "agricultural racing" was attempted. The photo indicates a marked lack of success in both endeavors, racing and agriculture.
Btw. Any idea on the coachbuilder that created this car or if the body style had a special name?
