I can only guess, since my connection is too slow for a proper search.
Horch 850, Germany, approx 1940?

It is based on a 1941 Horch, but the conversion was not done in Germany and was done later on.

It is a Horch AS 12 from 1941 used by the Brno firefighters.  I don't know if it was transformed in the Czech Republic.

I don't know which model it is. AS 12 seems to be a designation by the Brno fire brigade.

Sorry for ignoring the lock.  I didn't pay attention, as I already had it on my disk (image 2).  BTW, thanks for the point.
The model is Horch 853.

The firefighters from Brno-Komin got hold of a Horch 853 Sportcabriolet in November 1945. They converted it into this marvellous fire engine during three years fom 1946 to 1949. The body design was by a company called Lepil from Rousinov near Brno, the acrylic glass roof was built by a local company.

Hit the nail right on the head.
Here's a picture of an 853 before it was converted and with another one that was an open appliance rather than a command car.

All the sources say 1941, but were Horch still making sport cabriolets then? Would they not have been engaged on more important work? The roof is said to come from the gun turret of a WW2 bomber. Does anyone know if that's true, and if so which?
The more I consider the nature of speed, the more mysterious I find it.
