That's the man...locked for you.(#6)
-
Did he build this microcar during his time at Dornier?
-
It's not reported in my source (that I have not read entirely) but it's possible...I'm looking for the name of this car.
-
Is No6 still locked?
-
Paul, you can unlock. I only found the picture, but no name. Just a wild guess: Trolli?
-
Erwin Hymer's Minimobil
-

That's strange...if you goole "Erwin Hymer" you will find at least 2 places with this picture and the caption saying:
Erwin Hymer's Minimobil
...that is correct!
-
Is No1 an early Boitel?
-
Not Boitel.

#7: From USA, Crosley based?

If I'm really pedantic I have to say that this is not absolutely regular as you ask multiple questions per car. ;)

What do want to tell us here? ???
Do you think I'm envious of your points? :lmao:
-
No offense meant, I just thought your reply included a multiple question itself. ;)
I'd suggest that it is up to the puzzle owner to reject questions as not regular. Wouldn't you agree?
-
I thought your reply included a multiple question itself. ;)
I don't agree to 100%, but you can think that... :D
I'd suggest that it is up to the puzzle owner to reject questions as not regular. Wouldn't you agree?
Of course, but as you may have noticed the editors monitor also common practices and the netiquette on this board.
As long as the puzzle's author doesn't relax the rules we have to alert I'm afraid. ;)
-
I'd like to keep the joyful spirit of these days alive.
Multiple guesses are not allowed and that's a rule.
Your specific guesses ('french-electric-WWII' and 'Crosley-USA') told me that you were onto something and quite close, that's why I prefer to reply 'yes-no-yes' and 'yes-yes' instead of a misleading No - Yes.
Now, let's move along.
#1: There is a singular connection between this company and the maker of another quite known minicar...
#3: You know the basics, only the name is missing
#10:This may be hard...I have a name and a place...the place may be the key.
#11: Not that obscure. I have a nice pic of it that I'll upload in the future.
#12: Italian, not italian-engined.
#18: Italian, 1-cylinder, 0.8hp at 4000rpm...and that man is a very popular American singer.
-
Finally I found where I have seen #1 before. It is the SNCAO (Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques de l'Ouest), shown in Paris 1941. Powered by charcoal!
-
3 Maico?
-
Finally I found where I have seen #1 before. It is the SNCAO (Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques de l'Ouest), shown in Paris 1941. Powered by charcoal!
Correct...and do you know which was the other manufacturer with a singular connection to this one?
#3 - Not Maico...
-
Breguet was part of the SNCAO. Do you mean that connection?
-
Not that but wasn't part of the answer...
SNCAO stands for 'Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques de l'ouest' a company later bought by SNCASO (Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du sud-ouest)...while the little car INTER was built by Societé nationale de construction aéronatique du Nord!
I don't know how it works in France but it reminds me of Monopoli!
-
Was #3 built by Böbel?
-
Yes!
And thanks for the beautiful picture!
-

The place is correct, but not a Wiima...
-
#10 : Teijo ?
-
#10 : Teijo ?
Not the name I have.
-
Is #10 a car for kids?
-
Is #11 French?
Does #12 have a Swiss engine?

I have a name only, but judging by the size of the steering wheel it might be.

Does #12 have a Swiss engine?
#11-12: No.
-
Is #11 Dutch?
Does #12 have a European engine at all?
-
#11 - Not Dutch.
#12 - European, not German but close.
-
Does #12 have an Austrian engine?
-
??? I did not see there was a reply here!
Sorry for being late.
#12 - Austrian engine it is!
#11 - Once you'll find the place, you'll have the name...it's the only car (or one of the very few) from there, and there can't be no more (and that's a big clue!)
-
12. Denzel?
-
No11: Trieste?
-
#12 - This car was built in Italy, its engine is a motorbike austrian unit: Xxxx
#11 - You got my clue, but not Trieste (that still exist and it's a City...)
-
No11: Trieste was an autonomous region for a while. Anyhow, is it one of the former communist countries?
-
#11 - The country where this car was built no longer exist. It appears in Wikipedia's list of former socialist countries.
#11 - You got my clue, but not Trieste (that still exist and it's a City...)
Now I realize...my City was meant as a clue, not a remark of a (supposed) mistake... ;)
-
No11: from Yugoslavia?
-
Yes!
-
Does #12 have a Puch engine?
-
Yes!
-
No11: From the Slovenian part of ex-Yugoslavia?
-
South East from there...
-
No11: Made in Rijeka?
-
I don't know the precise location.
My source reports that it was shown about 160km Est\North-Est of Rijeka...
The company seems to be still active nearby...I have something on this car in a book at home and I'll see if there's more next week.
-
So it was introduced in Zagreb and produced near the city, right?
-
It was shown in Zagreb.
The company is still active (at least it seems) in Serbia.
I'm in the right place to look for info ;D .
-
Let's sum up:
#10: Not a Wiima, but from the same country...(and I found this pic online in a page where you can find the Wiima too...)
#11: 1st shown in Zagreb, former Yugolslavia. The car was shown with a name still in business and I have another pic (that I'll upload shortly) with a sign where is the builder's name too.
#12: Italian, Puch-engined
#18: Italian, 1-cylinder, 0.8hp at 4000rpm...that man is a very popular American singer.
-
Here's a better view:
-
#10 - In the website where I took this pic, the Wiima is not called Wiima but Wixxxin.
#11 - This pic cames from a book, not an ultra rare-expensive-obscure one.
#12 - The 2nd name of its builder sounds like the plural of an Italian 1st name (like 'Roberti', 'Giuseppi', ...)
#18 - Find the singer and I'll reveal the rest.
-
12 Alberti?
-
12 Alberti?
Not Alberti but you got the clue right. ;)
-
Franceschini?
-
Not that...
-
Bernardi?
-
Not that...
-
I got four more names: Orlandi?
-
Not that, go ahead with the others ;D
-
Ricardi?
-
Not that...
-
Mariani?
-
Not that...
-
Is the singer of #18 Perry Como?

12. Luigi?
-
Is the singer of #18 Perry Como?
Not him...
12. Luigi?
Not that...
-
18. Paul Anka?
-
18. Paul Anka?
Not him.
If you google his last name, you'll find pages and pages with results of a very popular actor, few results with a quite beefed old actor and if you link this name to our field, a quite extra-ordinary car...
-
#18 Tony Bennett?
-
Not him.
The 1st actor is VERY popular, the 2nd one was active in movies where his physique was needed, the extra-ordinary car was very unusual!
-
#18 - Dean Martin?
-
Not him.
The 1st actor is from Canada, the 2nd actor was also a bodybuilder, popular after his period at Cinecittà, the car was the only one of its kind those days.
-
Is the #18 singer Jim Reeves? (Keanu Reeves, George Reeves and the Reeves Octoauto would fit the hints.)
-
I'm pretty hopeless with guessing film stars/singers of that genre......
Could it be Paul Anka?
-

Already guessed...
Is the #18 singer Jim Reeves? (Keanu Reeves, George Reeves and the Reeves Octoauto would fit the hints.)

Bravo!
-
2 cars left, plus #18.
#11 - 1st shown in Zagreb, former Yugolslavia. This car is featured in a book that is also in someone else's shelf :lurk:
#12 - Italian, Puch-engined. The 2nd name of its builder sounds like the plural of an Italian 1st name (like 'Roberti', 'Giuseppi', ...)
#18 - 5 letters: _ _ _ _ T. Let's play hangman.
-
No12: Alessandri?
-
Not Alessandri...but in the right part of the alphabet...(it doesn't start with A)
-
Bernardi?
-
Not with 'B' or 'C'... ;D
-
Enrici?
-
Danieli?
-
Danieli?
Yes! Built in 1951 by Ernesto Danieli from Milan.

There's no way to give clues about this...but I really don't want to move it to the Black Hole...
This car is featured in that book and in a magazine....

He took that pic from here, pag #4, reply #97.
In the original pic I used in that reply the sign reports the car and the designer's name...I erased it and it's not in that coloured pic.
