Well, it could have been Montlhery or possibly even Sitges.

Cowled in radiators weren't that common but that doesn't help much.

Is it an MG record breaker, driven by George Eyston in 1929?

No, it's not an MG, George Eyston isn't the driver and it's not 1929.
But you're not that far out from any of them!

It may appear at first glance to be an Austin or an MG but it is in fact a Morris side-valve Special at Brooklands in 1931.
Driven by Von der Becke (not Van der Becke in some sources) it achieved over 100 mph in supercharged form and 100 mpg unsupercharged. The car was later acquired by the Skinner family (of SU fame) and went on to achieve success at Shelsley Walsh.

That's true but most of the puzzles I know are solved before they reach Pro level.
With quite a few Experts approaching the 200 point mark I think we are going to end up with a log-jam of frustrated Pros.
Time for more use of the "Pros & Feature Writers" section perhaps?

I found a 1931 Shelsley Walsh photo of a van der Becke Special.

This seems to be a different car:

Probably the picture resurrection after the big site crash went wrong. The picture belongs to this post: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=22027.msg237593#msg237593
