Perhaps a Riley base as there's been quite a number of specials built on the RM series?

1.5-litre or 2.5-litre?
I'll go with the 2.5 as I guess this is supposed to be a sports car and the 1.5 would prove a bit anaemic for the purpose.
The base car was probably an RM-series Riley saloon dating from c.1948/1949.
I have no idea when or who built it but I guess it was probably in the 1970s or perhaps later.

Well that just about answers all the questions!
I don't know the name of the builder either, just that's it's a Riley 2.5 litre special on the base of a 1949 Saloon.
1 more point for you.

Bentley?

Sorry Ray, only just noticed this one.
As you can see, the answer was in any case "No"!

Thanks Carnut, that was really a guessing game based on observation rather than reference to any book/website/whatever.
If I find more information on this car I'll post it here.

Not a problem.  My next attempt would have been wrong, too.   ::)
