The door is Morris Minor, so I'll say Jowett Jupiter.
Odd logic !

Jowett Jupiter base is correct.

I'll lock it for you for 24 hours to see what you can find.

Being a Newbie, I'm unsure what 'Locked' means, I've read the rules, but being a thicko I couldn't really understand.

It means no-one else can answer for the period it's 'locked' so it's your puzzle to reply to until the lock expires.
It's not actually an official lock in that if someone else tries to post and answer they will be able to, just something they are not allowed to do.
So, see what you can find before the lock expires and you don't have to worry about someone else nipping in and nicking your point!

Thanks Carnut, I understand now.
Back to the Jowett. I believe this is a New Zealand car. The roof is similar to the Farr bodied cars. There were many companies who built special bodied Jupiters. I know no more on this particular car.
My family have a long association with Jowetts as we were dealers. We built a special bodied Jupiter that used Morris Minor doors and a fastback body with rear seats to put us 3 children it it. Our car was rallied extensively in the 1950's and is still alive today but needs a complete rebuild. We still have 2 Jowetts in the family. A 1927 Long 2 and a 1948 Bradford shooting break that we built on a new chassis. I have photos of it being made in 1948.

Yes, it was modified in New Zealand, so that's 2 out of the 3 questions answered.
With a bit of digging you should be able to find out the last answer, so it's locked for the moment for you to do so.
Interesting that you have such a connection with these fascinating cars, many of which have featured here on AP; Barrett is your man when it comes to Jowett Jupiters - he knows the ins and outs of all of them!

I believe it's Vic Morrison who owns the car in NZ.
I wonder if our Jupiter [ LOL 1] has ever been on these pages?

As I write this a Lamborghini Aventador has just screamed past my window..lovely noise.

This is a repost, I'm sure I puzzled this one before.....

My memory is obviously a little tired today, is LOL 1 the ex-Frank Grounds car? If so then it featured in my Jowett Jupiter - The Coachbuilt Cars feature in the 'Feature Articles' section (I think). Would love to know how the resto is coming along and see some more up-to-date photos of the thing!

Hello Barrett.
It had been mentioned to me that you were a Jowett expert, so I just did a site search and found your piece on some of our Jowetts and other cars. Very good and thanks for featuring us. We still have 2 in the family.
