Thanks Carnut, I understand now.
Back to the Jowett. I believe this is a New Zealand car. The roof is similar to the Farr bodied cars. There were many companies who built special bodied Jupiters. I know no more on this particular car.
My family have a long association with Jowetts as we were dealers. We built a special bodied Jupiter that used Morris Minor doors and a fastback body with rear seats to put us 3 children it it. Our car was rallied extensively in the 1950's and is still alive today but needs a complete rebuild. We still have 2 Jowetts in the family. A 1927 Long 2 and a 1948 Bradford shooting break that we built on a new chassis. I have photos of it being made in 1948.
Yes, it was modified in New Zealand, so that's 2 out of the 3 questions answered.
With a bit of digging you should be able to find out the last answer, so it's locked for the moment for you to do so.
Interesting that you have such a connection with these fascinating cars, many of which have featured here on AP; Barrett is your man when it comes to Jowett Jupiters - he knows the ins and outs of all of them!
