Please identify this small car - I need the name of its builder and the year when it was built for a point

Looks a little like an obscure French car I know, but I assume this one is not French.  Correct?
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

pnegyesi

You are wrong, it is French :)

Ah, tres bien.  It looks like an early one-off Piollet coupe (a matching one-off cabriolet version was also built).

Yes, this is the earlier Piollet microcar, the later one was featured here:

...and this was called Piollet N°5. He built his 1st car when he was 10, the 2nd at 11 and another at 14. All but the #5 were entirely (engine and wheels included) made of wood and obviously not functional.
This one (#5) was started in 1955 with a Aubier & Dunne engine.
It was later scrapped to retrieve the chassis for another Piollet: a barquette with 2 engines still extant.

I'd love to see this one finished, any better images out there?

I think PJ and myself have the same source for this car and there is a better image there.
I'll try to scan it soon if PJ doesn't do it first..... ;)
