Identify what this is and from when it dates, for 1 point:

It's not a Lancia.
There was some Italian influence/involvement but not sure if it is actually an Italian design; think it's just a development of one.

I had the name 'Volvo Elizabeth' from 1953 in my head, but that one has a different nose. So I looked it up in Google and found the exact same picture as the puzzle: apparantly it's called the 'Volvo Project 55' or 'Volvo P55' from 1954 and was designed by Volvo Chief Designer Jan Wilsgaard as what would later become the 1956 Volvo Amazon (or 120-series).

In searching for that last info, I also found some other 'interesting' photos ...

Yes.  Clearly heavily influenced by the earlier Elisabeth.
