Solved - NEH 1669: First Arnott sports racer - 1953

Exactly what is this (I mean not just its name), from when - for 1 point?

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.

I have it as an Arnott-Climax c.1953/54 but I'm not sure about the engine..... :-\

Forget what I said about breaking records at Montlhery - that was a streamlined single-seater Arnott and I was confusing the two.

The puzzle car seems to be a mystery to me at the moment (my back issues of Autosport are still in store so I can't check any details).

Let me have a wild guess then - the first Arnott sports racer after their single-seater 500s?

If that's not it please unlock it again to give others a chance.

That's what I was looking for, yes.

In the puzzle picture (reproduced below without alterations) Daphne Arnott is sitting in the driving seat surrounded by her first Racing Team.
