It's a Goggomobil Roadster, but I must confess I know nothing about the 'USA' bit.
Can you enlighten me on that?  Was this a regular model, as I have it as a one-off?

Glas built this one-off Goggomobil for presentation in the USA. The car was transported by PanAm Clipper to the States in spring 1957. Hans Glas, his son Andreas  and Georg "Schorsch" Meier (winner of the 1939 Tourist Trophy, Isle of Man) followed later. Meier in 1993: "after difficulties to find the correct mixture for the two-stroke engine in a New York gas station, the project was stopped."
