What's this, by whom, from when - for 1 point?

The car surely looks a lot like a Thurner RS, except for the wheels and the headlights, but the owner claims it to be something different: NSU Ver-Oli from 1973, built by Hermann Handstanger from Austria, based on NSU TT. I don't know whether it really is an "Eigenbau" or just a modified Thurner RS.

Yes, when I posted this puzzle it was on the basis that it was an Eigenbau by Hermann Handstanger.  But since it had such a strong resemblance to the Thurner I compared the two and decided it was in fact a Thurner body; I think Herr Handstanger is being just a bit liberal with the truth; I'm sure he put the thing together as a kit car perhaps making a few of his own changes but this really isn't a genuine 'Eigenbau' which would normally have a body wholly created by the builder, not just a slight modification (the headlights!) of someone else's!

Fortunately the NSU-Thurner RS didn't seem to have been puzzled before so I just changed the puzzle to be an NSU-Thurner (or Thurner-NSU!)

I think so, too. His motorsport club is planning a web article about his car. Let's see what story they will tell.

It' just Thurner RS without "NSU-" or "-NSU".
