Solved - NEH 1576: 1983 Vandeta kit car

Can't have a day without a red car so this is it for today; but what is it?

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.

To be honest I know almost nothing about this car despite best efforts to find something out.
I know its name but nothing else; it is a kit-car AFAIK but what it's based on I don't know.

According to a well-known kit-car site, it's a “1983 Vandeta”, built on a 4-speed 1969 Corvette chassis.

Not to be confused with the Gundacker Vandeta, which was a VW-based van kit.
