What's this, from when?

Triumph Super Eight of 1933 or thereabouts.
They did catalogue a 2/4 seat tourer, but I would expect more generous front wings there.

It's not a Triumph.

No, not a Standard.  A bit later than 1934 too, although the base car is most probably pre-war.

Unfortunately I know little about this car except it is described as an "Austin Home-built Special,1940's, Reg. MU 6066".  Since the registration is from about 1933 it's no doubt based on a 1930s Austin 7.
So I'll call this solved!

Well the Magna type wheels are not A7 but possibly Austin 10.
The registration currently belongs to a red Austin first registered 8/7/32 of 885cc. but that engine size would be the 1939 Eight

'MU' actually ran from 1929 to 1934 so I was guessing that they would have been in the 6000's in 1933!  Obviously I was a year out..
