Is it a Mini Comtesse?

That's not the name I have, but I will check and see if it's related.

EDIT:
Can't find any relationship..

Marden Espace 1 Electric from 1975

Yes, it is.
Built by whom, to answer the remaining part of the question?
How did you manage to find this extremely obscure car, which seems to have very, very few mentions on the Web?

In my file about that no so obscure trade it's mentioned the origin of the name: Mrs Marson (MAR) and Denape (DEN) developping a microcar into the company SEMA in 1976, but afterwards appear the name Sogalon S.A. placed in 4, rue de Longchamp 92200 NEUILLY, France as the producer of that car, the addreses of SEMA and SOGALON are the same. Marden was active almost since 1975 until 1991. Afterwards the company becomed DELMA-MARDEN until 1994 being its last model the Alizé, see http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=19957.0
The picture of your blog appeared in a "Historie des voitures francaises 1975-79" of Philippe de l'Arc specifying 2 electric motors Unelec of 1 Kw at 96 V, automatic transmission Cybermeca, reinforce polyester body and tyres 145 SR 10. Dimensions: length 210 cm, width 135 cm, height 144 cm.
The same car appears in my files in 1977 as Marden 49 with a single stroke engine Sachs of 47 c.c. also in 1976 appeared the Espace 2 identical to the first electric Espace 1 but with a Sachs engine of around 125 c.c. with versions full enclosed or open top. Prices in 1976 were Espace 1 electric 21.500 F.F and Espace 2 18.500 F.F. In 1977 was presented a larger version with a length of 265 cm and alternative engine Sachs of 125 c.c. or Citröen of 435 c.c.

OK, thanks for that full story.
I didn't know it was a Mrs Marson as I had it by Teddy Marson and Robert Denape..
Here are a couple more pictures:

Some remarks:

Before the production of the Marden Espace started in late 1979, it went through various prototype stages.

The puzzle picture was taken in 1976 at the Geneva salon. I wouldn't be too sure whether it is the electric Espace 1, as you can see the Sachs rotary engine of the Espace 2 in front of the car. This March 1976 version differs from the 1975 ones (and from the Paris salon version from autumn 1976).

Your last set of pictures shows the first prototype from 1975. As far as I recall, that one really had an electric engine.

The colour picture shows a Marden Espace from around 1980 when series production had started. No electric or rotary engine anymore, but a 49 cc Sachs two-stroke engine.

And I think the "Mrs" Marson is just a misleading plural of "Mr".  :D

Very interesting. Looking at the floor the photo also seems to have been taken at Geneva in 1976, but the car does have the external door hinges and chrome wheelcaps of the earlier prototypes, but already the bumpers of the puzzle car. Never seen this version before.
