What's this, who built it and when - for 1 point?

It's just been pointed out to me that my NEH 1471 was a repost, so I've changed it for this nice red car..
And before the choruses of "Re-post" start, this is not actually a repost as the earlier similar puzzle was quite a bit different..

This is 1961 Maserati Tipo 63 from Villa d'Este 2011.
The puzzles car should be a similar one I think...

Yes, it's a Maserati Tipo 63.

but can you tell me a bit more about this particular car?
Which Tipo 63 is it specifically and what about its active life?

The car has Serenissima logo... but I have it as s/n001 or s/n008...

It is the ex Scuderia Serenissima "Muletto" (mule) yes, but you shouldn't be answering this because it was locked for Iluvatar, so no points for you..

I believe it is s/n 001 as you say, as this was the very first mule, but I just need to check my files tomorrow to verify my facts before I give you the point and move this to Solved.

Actually it appears this muletto was chassis no. 002 (not 63.002 as it wasn't called a Tipo 63 at that stage) but when its original 4-cylinder engine was replaced by a V12 to race under the Serenissima banner it was renumbered 63.008, a number it still bears to this day.

It was the original SWB rear-engined birdcage but whether it's exactly the same car as has featured here before or whether it's earlier I'm not 100% sure!

I'm calling it solved and awarding the point to Iluvatar anyway.

Here's a front view, from which you can see the substantial difference from the previous Tipo 63 puzzle car:
