Solved - NEH 1477: Abbott Bentley Silver Wraith Farnham - 1949

What's this, built by whom, from when?  For 1 point.

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

Semi-experimental chassis of Bentley/Rolls Royce here, or conundrum city. Though originally laid down as a Rolls Royce experimental chassis, this ended up being constructed as the Bentley Farnham, chassis 8BVII, for which rather surprisingly Abbott of Farnham (hence 'Farnham') were asked to provide a body for. It was 'returned to production' according to works nomenclatura: so it does not survive.

I knew you'd know!
That's the car of course (I have it as an Abbott Bentley Silver Wraith Farnham so maybe the chassis was originally meant to be a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith?; maybe it ended up as one anyway?!).

Since I also asked for its date it's locked for you to give me that then I can move this one to Solved.
