Base car is easy of course but who was responsible for this and from when does it date?  For 1 point..

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

You've got the easy bit!
I don't know where the coachbuilder was based; I haven't been able to find out anything about them, just the name..

I can't remember the name, but I thought the coachbuilder was local to the Morgan works.  I'll have to cast my net wider.

That Morgan's body wasn't built by Nash of Southhampton, was it?

I guessed Nash because the style looked somewhat like theirs. Over a hundred woodie coachbuilders in England alone, where to start.
Let's try Gaze, Ltd. Of Kingston-upon-Thames. Hmmm?

Yarbourg?

Aha - you've found it.
I didn't believe that spelling though and was hoping that whoever identified it would get the spelling right..
That doesn't look English to me!

However, it's what the car is described as on the only site where I can see it so that's what it'll have to be - until someone puts it right!

For the point then, what about the year?  Locked for you.

Another coachbuilder I've never heard of...
1949 is close enough; I have it as '48 but who knows what's right?!
If anyone can throw any more light on the coachbuilder and/or their spelling more info would be much appreciated.

I have this Morgan 4/4 Estate as being built by Peamore Garages (M. Yarburgh-Bate) of Alphington, Exeter, Devon and dated 1949.
Yarburgh sounds more English although I thought originally it might have been Yarbrough or Yarborough.

No, Touvy is unknown to me.......
Could be Turvey if it's English I suppose.
