Hi Terry,
Welcome to the site, I'm sure you'll find some interesting things here!

Yes it's a Bentley but you're a year out on the original year of construction.
It's was later rebodied as a 'woody' estate as seen here.
Any thoughts on which model Bentley it is and who rebodied it?

unfortunately no but we have a car here in Western Australia almost identical owned by peter briggs of the York Motor Museum

Chassis number B-80-DG, 3 1/2 litre for  Col C J Hirst  Renfrewshire. 1st  body by Hooper as a convtible, after a accident converted into a shooting brake  Jones Bros Ltd in 1937

Yes, not sure why that came out as Johns. Car is for sale at the moment - very desirable!
