Yes, that's correct but how did you find it?

Found by a lot of luck. It is identifiable, but barely, as an Austin A30, so Google Image Search (not GSI) "racing Austin A30" produced the desired result.

Yes it is - here's an early colour photo of the car before spoilers, etc. were added.

It certainly had a Holden engine (slightly mid-mounted). I'm surprised anyone outside the Southern Hemisphere would be aware of this car.

I grew up in the era when Anglias, A40s, Cortinas were the norm at UK tracks every weekend.
I was also in Australia/New Zealand in the late 1950s/early 1960s and attended events there where Holdens were the norm.
A bit before Brocky's time though.
I've followed the Bathurst 500/Hardie 1000 events for many years and would love to visit Mt. Panorama one day when I'm fit enough again.....

I've received a great deal of pleasure and enlightenment from the puzzles of all you Experts and Professionals, so I truly do not mind your question.

It may be that I'm an unusual specimen among Rookie puzzlers, in that I'm older(54) and my knowledge is fairly broad, but not very deep If I solve a puzzle too quickly it is always counterbalanced by another puzzle which causes my eyes to bulge out of their sockets and beads of blood to appear on my brow

I'm glad that you're enjoying it so far Zerk and you will find it very enlightening and eye-opening at times.
Let me warn you however - this site is very addictive and you can spend an inordinate amount of time (always pleasurable) here.......
