An over-decorated front.....

I don't know much about this particular car except the make and the country where the bodywork was built.
So for one point identify those two items....

Allard with English coachwork (probably inspired by too many pints of stout at the local pub)?

A Ford from Portugal?
Yes, it's Portuguese but not a Ford.
As you've guessed 50% of the puzzle correctly I'll lock until your next reply only to complete the car make.

Fiat?
That's correct - it's a Fiat in Portugal - another point for you.
I don't know the model of Fiat or who the coachbuilder was - anyone?

Maybe Carrosserias Murteira.
Thank you for that very interesting photo pguillem.
Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be much information available in any medium on Portuguese coachbuilders.
I seem to remember that quite a number of examples (in particular buses & coaches) featured a great deal of chrome ornamentation in the post WW II period - it's a fascinating subject for me.

Carrosserias Murteira bodied a number of buses (Bedford, Guy, Magirus-Deutz, Maudslay, Mercedes-Benz, Scania-Vabis, Volvo) and trucks (AEC, Latil, Somua, Thornycroft) with much chrome ornamentation.  I found many images on a Portuguese forum some years ago but it seems that they have been archived, as Google doesn't bring much results.  Very impressive, anyway.
