Ir's a Delage D8S cabriolet in which 20 year-old Renée Friedrich, daughter of a former Delage driver was killed during the 1932 Paris-St-Raphaël rally.  There seems to be some confusion about the coachwork design/construction.  From what I got from the French captions, it was initially thought to be a Labourdette, then Letourneur & Marchand and then discovered that its design was the work of Henri Montluçon, a Delage factory engineer.

Apparently the car was built in 1931 but is described as a 32.

My source simply tells me that it's a Delage D8S with Letourneur & Marchand coachwork.
It also says that it is a 1934 car which would rule out that it was the car that Renée Friedrich died in.
You have the point Ray for correctly identifying what the puzzle car is but perhaps someone can shed some more light on it.

Thank you.  Here's the French text.  I hope my translation wasn't too far off (except that M. Friedrich was a friend of Ettore Bugatti and a car dealer):

"Renée Friedrich, choisie par Delage pour le Paris-St-Raphaël 1932, et sa voiture accidentée dans laquelle elle perdit la vie

 Pour le Paris-St-Raphaël, Louis Delage fait appel à Mlle Renée Friedrich, qui a remporté avec succès l'épreuve précédente en 1931 au volant d'une voiture de la marque Bugatti, dont son père est agent à Nice. Mais la Delage D8 S n'est pas une Bugatti vive et légère. C'est une voiture encombrante et lourde, peu faite pour les frêles épaules de Renée Friedrich, qui n'a que 20 ans à l'époque. Ernest Friedrich était un compagnon d'Ettore Bugatti qui contribua aux premières victoires sportives de la marque après la Première Guerre mondiale. Il pilota lui-même jusqu'en 1924, date à laquelle il devint agent Bugatti à Nice. Le jour du départ, le 21 février 1932, l'équipage et la voiture sont la cible des photographes, comme l'a parfaitement imaginé Louis Delage. Mlle Hellé-Nice, ancienne danseuse du Casino de Paris, véritable sportive qui a couru en Grand Prix, ne fait pas le poids dans sa Bugatti 35C. Pour Renée Friedrich, on a dû avancer le dossier du siège de la Delage afin que ses pieds atteignent le pédalier. La conductrice est littéralement collée au volant, une position bien peu confortable pour piloter un engin aussi puissant. Tout se passe bien jusqu'à la course de côte de Pougues, près de Nevers, dans la Nièvre. On ignore pour quelle raison la D8 S pilotée par Renée quitte l'asphalte de la Nationale 7, fait un tonneau et vient terminer sa course dans un arbre. La position de conduite peu confortable de la jeune femme, une plaque de verglas comme le prétendra la presse ? Toujours est-il que Mlle Friedrich est tuée sur le coup, coincée par son énorme volant. Son mécanicien s'en sort indemne. L'auto, qui roulait à allure modérée au moment de la sortie de route, n'est pas trop abîmée."

The white car is not the same car. This was indeed by Grummer. (pic)
A version with a hardtop also exists, which say is by Willy van der Plas, and others claim it to be by Letourneur & Marchand. (pic) Probably the same people now claim the car of the puzzle to be a Delage factory construction (which I believe to be nonsense).
The car shown here has always been considered to be by Letourneur & Marchand, both originally (when it had the lamps on the mudguards (pic 2x), as well as after the the rebuild following the considerable damage done in the fatal accident of Renée Friderich (as shown in the puzzle). It was owned for years by André Surmain, both Michelin star chef as well as a serious car collector who in a moment of madness allowed me to drive the car (albeit briefly) near Mougins in France. It certainly carried Letourneur & Marchand badges then...
Sorry for being a bit of an anorak... ;)

Which explains (in part) why I stated, "There seems to be some confusion about the coachwork design/construction."

I'm not confused about one thing.  I envy the drive in the Delage.  Wanna trade for a drive in my race car?  :)

That's excellent and clears it up nicely.
The caption I had on the puzzle photo mentions that it was owned by André Surmain at the time.
So I'm giving bentleybob the extra point for the extra information.
