An interesting saloon - for one point what was it called, who built/designed it and the year it was built?

Not that I'm aware of.
I believe it's a privately built car.

I'll give you the point for identifying the car and builder/designer.
However I'll offer another point if anyone can tell me the year it appeared AND any further information regarding the base car, engine, etc. (I know the year but don't know any further details)

According to a nice book, Karavella was based on a VAZ-2101 and so was powered by a 1200 cc engine. An article was featured on it 1987 but the source doesn't tell when it was introduced. According to Arunas' excellent site, it was unveiled in 1982

1982 is also the year I have.
That plus the extra information gives you the extra point.

For this reason I will post tomorrow a short period video, showing Karavella and some other Soviet DIYs in motion!

Please stay tuned :)

This is according to the earliest article I have in my humble archive...
