Who built this small sports car, what was it based on, when was it built and what bodyshell did it use?

Up a level

A Jensen maybe?

A Jensen maybe?
Not a Jensen - not so sophisticated.....

Pros?
-
MG TF based?
-
MG TF based?
It is indeed MG based but I don't know if this one was based on a TF.
It was completed the same year as the TF so I think it may have used the TD as the base.

Looks to be an RGS body, but I haven't been able to dig up anything on who built it

So is this an RGS Atalanta MG, built by Dick Shattocks?
Is it the 1957 car, Reg GEG 532 S/N 25234 found in a barn near Snetterton by Peter Wardle, who rescued it, rebuilt it and raced it with hisw friend Malcolm White until 2004?
The picture is actually the same one on on one of my favourite websites but it doesn't enlarge at all about the car, just shows the photo!

Not the same car - it was built a few years earlier than 1957 by a well-known person who had many connections with MG in the 1950s period.
The registration number I have on the car is not the same but may well have been changed as I believe his other cars originally carried similar numbers.......

I should have added that yes, it is an MG-based car with an RGS body (nothing to do with Atalanta).
Locked for you until your next reply.

Thanks but I think you'd better open this up again as I have drawn a blank.
Your actual puzzle picture appears on several different websites, but always described as an RGS Atalanta by Dick Shattocks from 1953. I've also seen it described as an 'RGS Atalanta 1.3'
The only MG-engined RGS I have found is the one I mentioned yesterday, which is a later car.
The only other person I can think of who might have been involved would be Dick Jacobs?

You've got it!
It is a Jacobs MG with an RGS body from 1953.
