Ok, so it's a sportscar made in Hungary by Laszlo Nagy on a Skoda 1101 chassis in 1958-'59.

I asked because you and me have access to something that is not available to everybody, yet... ;)

sixtee5cuda

FWIW, it may be named the Skoda Colonial Special Coupe

And the car is still around...

Yes, that's it.
I didn't get it from that source so it's OK (I've had it waiting a while; I thought it would make a good puzzle No. 2000!)

So there's a point for you.
Had I seen your post before sixtee5cuda posted the name I would have asked you for it, so It'll have to be another point to him for that information!

Here are some more pics of it at various stages of its life including now:

The yellow one has totally different doors. I wonder why they have restored it in this way, while the original doors and wings were still preserved in the wreck.  ???

pnegyesi

Because the car was made from very old sheet-metal and they did not have the proper financial means for a complete restoration. This is more like preserving what's left of the car

Carnut

It was so different that I did wonder if it was in fact the same car or if he made two..
The whole sides - wing line and doors - are completely different and even the front grille seems much deeper, though perhaps it just looks that way with the 2-piece bumpers..
