CG #7 - 1908 V8 J.A.P / 1919 GN

I think this one will be easy.

For 1 point, name the builder of this car, what the car is based on, the make & type of engine, and most importantly, what's so interesting about the engines original purpose?

It's a 1908 GN-JAP GP: 1919 wooden GN cyclecar chassis and E T Willows 1908 5112cc JAP V8.  As far as I know, the motor was originally used in a dirigible or airship.

Correct, I was also after the builder of the car (Richard Scaldwell), but close enough for me. 1 point for you.

I had the builder's name, but in my haste, I forgot to add it.  Thanks for the point.

That thing must be a blast to drive.  It can't weigh more than 1000 pounds and that motor's gotta have a buncha torque just from the rotating mass.  The driver doesn't seem to mind getting it a little sideways, either.  I bet those skinny bicycle tires are kinda spooky in the wet...but maybe they're better than slicks in that situation.  Dunno, but I'd sure like to test drive it to find out.   ;D

I agree with it being fun to drive, but to me, slightly scary. Here are a couple more photos.

Very cool!  I love the tight shot of the driver with both arms full of opposite lock.  :)  Thanks again.
