I've found this car as a Home-built one off from the show and is tagged as a 'Bri'. From the book
British Specialty Cars opening page. License plate 3016-TE. Is there some kind of License plate database to search this number to find more info?

No, unfortunately not.
This registration number will probably have been given to the original car (I'll give you its date later!) that was used as this car's donor, so even if you could trace it the only info you would get is what it was originally, for instance it might just say 'MG' if this car used an MGB as its base.

The major fly in the ointment is that there is a trade in registration numbers, so you can buy an old number from a dealer if you want your car to look like it has a particular age or identity, in which case it would tell you what the plate is on today: the only trouble is you need to know what car it's on now before you can trace it!

Thanks for the registration plate info Carnut. As you say, the licence plate isn't always a clue to the vehicle it is attached to!

Oguerrerob, well done for finding some more images of this car, but it is not a 'Bri' and was intended for production, being exhibited for sale to attract orders and more customers at a couple of English car shows in the 1980s.

So, the mystery continues...

Amazingly I have pored through Chris Rees's book looking for the answer to this puzzle and have been unable to spot it. Anything that looks like it might be the answer has been posted before so can't be..

I'll be intrigued when I see what it is!

I know of one Tiger Super 6 that is registered as a Ford Cortina Sports Convertible.....

The registration number is a Lancaster County Council issue from November/December 1962.

This particular car is definitely not pictured in Chris Rees's book.
The only car that is pictured that looks anything like it is the Swift, but the radiator is different. Any relation?
