Take a close look and you will find out that it isn't an Olympia (Rekord), although it's really hard trying to look like it.

The coachbuilder is more obscure than Rometsch.

Well, how about a Opel Kapitän being turned into an ambulance by Ratschke?

I thought I had a fair handle on Opels from WAY back when, but as so often seems to be the case here, "things are not as they seem."

Yes, it is a rebodied Opel P4 made to look like the 1953 Opel Olympia Rekord. That was the easy part. Now for the coachbuilder ...

Yes, it was done by Rudi Thalheim in Dresden. The year 1951 mentioned on their site must be wrong as the design they copied onto the P4 chassis definitely is a 1953/54 Olympia Rekord.
