It's Santa Pod and the guy's name is Chris Leaney. His 1967 dragster was VW-engined and here's a photo with some bodywork.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

It's indeed the 1967 VW powered dragster by Chris Leaney, so the point goes to ImpishGrin.
