Wasn't the Ferrari-Monteverdi "for" Peter Monteverdi, "by" Sauter?

Am I correct in thinking, the only modern pictures of this car are of the Spider, or the bare body shell?

Shall I post a picture of the car with a gullwing door open?

Yes i think that it is Sauter who built a " Ferrari-Monteverdi 750GT  berlinetta " for a" Dr Hopf " with chassis #0486M Ferrari Monza !

Thank's for the additional info. I wasn't aware that it was made by Sauter. Just changed the topic's title.

It looks like the car will be reborn.  The body was purchased by Jim Carpenter of Italian Design And Racing in Arizona, USA.  They have modified a Ferrari chassis to go under it.  Drivetrain will be from a Ferrari 456.

Great that it will be restored, but on a 456 drivetrain?  :yuck:

It was probably too expensive, to find a 750 Monza chassis and restore the car to "original" condition.  Once you admit the chassis isn't going to be correct, it's a small step to put a modern engine inside...

Hope at least they will put appropriate wheels on it. Hopefully it won't be look like a neo-classic, then.
