Triumph Quadraflight, based on Triumph 2000 Saloon. Built between 1970 and 1975 by Franco Frey and his father.

Perfect answer! :)
I hoped it would last a little longer, though.  :-\

Hi guys

RE Triumph Quadraflight

I bought the car from Mr Frey Snr from a place he owned in England around 1985, it was unwanted and the red paint was covered in green alge fron being under trees. i restored the car and ran it for many years as my everyday car!, it was indeed based on triumph 2000 mechanics with a tubular spaceframe bonded into a fibreglass body moulding, during the time I had the car it was upgraded with 2.5pi mechanicals and converted to Right hand drive. I had to sell the car when the family out grew the 2+2 arrangement. i have seen it since on the roads around Surrey/Hampshire around 1990 however I have now moved and have no further knowledge. As a prototype it was a beautiful car similar to a lamborginis espada. Its shortfalls were water ingress into the un protected space frame with resultant corrosion problems, osmosis type blistering under the gel coat and a weak detail at the diff mounting which caused the occasional embarassing moment. I would be interested if the car still exists.

Great post Bolero! And a big welcome!

Do you possibly have more photos of the car?
I only know these few poor quality b+w pics.

Hi

Attached a magazine page featuring the build of the car and a pic of the car shortly after I bought it and with the body cleaned.

Wow, fantastic!

If you know the registration number you can enter it into the DVLA website to check if the car is still taxed/ SORNed. Hopefully it's still around.
