A couple more pics are available.

The rear view shows a '53 Studebaker influence. I like the floating, inset taillight/bumperettes, a feature picked by Cadillac a few decades later. Rear wipers are an interesting touch, too.

This one is my favourite Italian design on an USAmerican base.
A little strange is that fake intake from the door to the rear fender.

Should I assume the Ghia Supersonic overtones are a distraction?

Sort of - Chrysler Corsair, designed by Boano (previously of Ghia).

This image from an unknown car book, indicates a Chrysler Boano was named "Corvair II".  Is this the same car?

I think it's a mis-spelling.
The unknown book is actually one of the Alberto Fornai books on the carrozzieri - As and Bs.  Poor quality images and spelling mistakes but invaluable information, much of which is not available elsewhere.  Als15 is going to put that right!
