This vehicle is a Delahaye limousine with coachwork by Chapron.
It is owned by the Thailand Royal Family and is assigned to the Crown Prince.

I have more information on this car that I will post when it is moved.
Cheers
Bill

This car and it's stablemates has quite an interesting recent history.
I know little about the earliest history, but when searching cars used by Royalty, my
first choice when I saw the photo, I came across another photo of the same car.
That photo was in an advertisement for RM Motorsports of Wixom Michigan where they
advertised cars that they had restored.

I contacted the owner, Mr. Bennett, by telephone and he gave me quite an interesting story
to pass on to the members here.  This particular car is one of more or less a dozen that he has
restored for various members of the Thai Imperial Family over the last several years.  He also sent several photos
of this car and mentioned others that I found on the net and will present here.  He is returning to Thailand this
coming week to bid on a further 10 cars for restoration and was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't get too much more
information than what I present here.

He did mention that all the cars he receives from them get a complete rebuild and in the case of the more modern cars
a tuning of the engines to quite a degree.  The older Cadillac limousine is said to reach 150 mph and the newer ones
about 130 mph.  He also improves the engine cooling and adds extra insulation for the heat in Thailand.

He mentioned that most of the Royal Family were extremely nice and friendly people.  I have read the Crown Prince had a few
issues and I remember reading that one of the younger Princes recently ran down and killed a Police Officer and ran from the scene.
But, those are stories for another day.

In any case, here a series of photos I got from him and off the net.  They may not come in the order I list but you can figure it out.
A shot of the Delahaye as it was received in a shipping container.
A shot of the Delahaye in his shop.
A shot of the interior of the Delahaye.
A shot of the motor of the Delahaye.
A shot of a 1929 Delage owned by family.
A shot of a Cadillac of about 2000 or so owned by the family, one of two and said to do about 130 mph.
A shot of an older Cadillac owned by the family said to do 150 mph.

Okay, screwed up the photos.  Go to the next post.
Cheers
Bill

More photos that did not post.
Note that all of these cars are painted almost the same yellow colour.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I probably gave away a few good puzzle cars in my background story, but I thought it was better to share the whole bit with all of you.

I do hope that Mr. Bennett does contact me when he returns from Thailand to give us some further input regarding these Imperial cars.

One of the cars he is apparently about to bid on for restoration is a Wanderer, not sure if it is from Thailand or elsewhere, and I told him
I had hundreds of images of Wanderers from start to finish due to my military vehicle interest and he seemed quite interested.
So, perhaps he will maintain the dialogue.

Thanks again for your interest.
Cheers
Bill
