Thgat exhaust system suggests a flat-4 Porsche.  So is it a conversion of a 550A RS1500 for road use?

Well, if it's not a 718 or a 550A, it can't be a 356 as they were road cars anyway and it can't be anything later (I think) as they didn't have a Y-shaped exhaust.  So that only leaves a 550.

If I'm wrong, please unlock it as I'm baffled.

I can't find any images of this exact car.  As far as I can tell, only 2 356B 2000GS Carrera 2 GT's were built.  (GS and GT?).  Are you waiting on the coachbuilder?

Guess #1:  Reutter

Conversion by Beutler?

Is the 2000 GS GT in the Porsche museum, the first or second?  Of the two cars built, is one lost?

(The only images I have found of this car, are from an auction of a 3-part image.  All 3 parts are now in this puzzle)

It would be nice to have more information about this car, but the auction image and description are all I could find.

Here is the front view:

The front and side views look a lot like an RSK.  The rear 1/3 of the car looks like it is hinged for engine access.  Doesn't that imply it is mid-engine?  And would that imply, it isn't a 2000GS/356B?

(Whenever a puzzle is based on a single source of information, I wonder at the accuracy.)

Thanks, Bill.  Your logic sure sounds good.  I wouldn't expect a tailhanger Porsche to have a lotta the rear hinged.  What is it they say?  "This is Autopuzzles where things are never what they seem."   ::)
