I was waiting this puzzle to be solved to ask a main question: is the first picture an original period one? Where does it come from?
I know the car as it is today, but I've very little information about is actual past history.

 ???

So when and where it was originally used is still a not confirmed. Most likely it was made for Fiat internal use (VIPs' visits to Mirafiori); hence, by the way, the word "ministeriale" is somehow misleading, because the car should never had any official state purpose.

Thanks.

I saw the car about 10 years ago, before a minor restoration was carried on. This is an interesting and almost unknown factory-made one off. Definitely one of the less known bits of Fiat history.

The text says:

"In a Luzzago Group auction a the 1957 Fiat 1900 A cabriolet ministeriale used by Gianni Agnelli was sold. This one off, styled in the Fifties by ing. Boano, was used by the Avvocato for official use, when having VIP guests visiting the Lingotto factory (nda: I think they would mean Mirafiori). For being so exclusive and for the name written on the documents, the new owner has paid 40.000 Euros, little more than the base price.

Gianni Agnelli, the "Avvocato" (the "lawyer", as he was called), was indeed the grandson of Giovanni, the "Senatore" (the "senator").

So, this must be one of the first projects of Mario Felice Boano when he was appointed as head of Fiat Centro Stile?
Or is it a Gian Paolo Boano design?
Is this car built by 'Fiat Carrozzerie Speciali'?

als15

Open questions... My guess is Gian Paolo and made by Costruzioni Sperimentali (protoshop), which was - actually, is - a smaller facility, best suitable for one-offs than the Carrozzerie Speciali, a small production line.

But it's only my personal feeling.
