How about a clay model of a 1954 Allen Kornmiller design for a Hudson?

The car was supposed to be the 1958 Hudson; unfortunately, it never got past this clay model stage.  Either a Wasp or Hornet, I don't know.

I've gotta be getting close...

Right on - this is prototype of a 1958 Hudson Hornet that didn't make it to production.

Nice job!

Solved - NEH 1587: 1958 Hudson Hornet prototype

1 point for identifying what this car is:

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

The basis appears to be a Rambler or a Hudson, perhaps a prototype for one of these marques in about 1957?

Can I jump in and say I think it's a 1958 Hudson Rambler (Australian)?

Oops, I just did.

Please accept my apologies for breaking the rules.  I thought I understood them after reading them, obviously I was wrong.

Thanks for locking the thread for me, Carnut. I'd say 1958, as the Rambler of this year has similar side-features and another guess would be that this is a suggestion for a Hudson Hornet, as this was always the name given to the larger of the Hudsons. Probaby Rambler based.

Well done and this makes you an Expert so no more Rookie puzzle identifications for you I'm afraid.
However, you may now post puzzles of your own so perhaps we can look forward to some brain-teasers?
